Thanks for your interest in the Independent’s Convention on February 28. The interest in this event is coming from people who are very geographically dispersed. In the addition, the numbers are not huge. Hence, we have decided to hold the “convention” via a skype (or I can conference you in with a land line) conference call.

I would like to initiate the call at 6:00 p.m. Eastern time on Saturday February 28. Please feel free to forward this message to others. Based on the conference call, there will certainly be a live meeting/convention in the next couple of months.\

The Independents Convention – The Declaration of Independents

When: Saturday February 28, 2009

Where: Downtown Toronto – Exact Location To Be Announced (Check back by February 21, 2009)

Time: 12:00 noon until approximately 8:00 p.m.

The “Independents Convention” is believed to be the first of its kind in Canada. It is an initiative to “bring together” a group of people united by a belief that:

- Political parties no longer serve the needs of citizens

- Independent candidates have an important role to play in the political process

Political parties no longer serve the needs of citizens:

Canada Today – A Government: Of The Parties, By The Parties, For The Parties!

Abraham Lincoln articulated a vision of a : government of the people, by the people, for the people. This form of democracy has perished in Canada. The people have been replaced by political parties. Canada has given birth to a form of government, where voters and local ridings are irrelevant. That form of government is an Orwellian form of – government of the parties, by the parties, for the parties!”
